1- The ideal place for the location of kitchen is the southeast corner. An alternative choice can be the northwest corner of the house.
2- As per the Vastu remedies for kitchen, certain directions that are a total no-no for the construction of the kitchen are: northeast, mid-north, mid-west, southwest, mid-south and the center of the house.
3- Make sure that the cooking platform does not touch eastern or northern wall.
4- The best direction for cooking is facing east, as this direction is considered to be auspicious.
5- Keep in mind that the stove in your kitchen should never be visible from the outside. It can lead to digestion problems for the family members.
6- Remember that taps and sinks should not be very close to the cooking range. Fire and water repel against each other.
7- It's best to have the kitchen sink in the northeast direction. If there is a dishwasher in the kitchen, place it in the northwest side of the kitchen. The other water elements like drinking water should be placed in the northeast.
8- Different electrical appliances also have to be kept at a right place in the kitchen, according to Vastu shastra. For example, if the refrigerator is placed inside the kitchen, then keep it in the southwest direction. Exhaust fans in the kitchen should always be fitted on the eastern walls in the southeast corner. Other electrical appliances, like microwave, should be put in the southeast corner.
9- Storage is also a very important aspect of the kitchen. If you have cabinets in the northeast side, use it for storing light things only.

Some Important Points
The Entrance: Entry door of kitchen should be in the East, North or West. The door of kitchen should not be in any of the corners.
Electric Equipments: Heaters, conventional ovens, micro-waves ovens should be placed in south-east or south side of the kitchen; never in north-east portion.
Sink: Sink (wash basin) should be in north-east corner as far as possible.
Storage: The storage racks should be made on southern or western wall Essential commodities like boxes of grain, spices, pulses, etc. should be in south or west direction. The water source including pitcher, water filter, etc. may be kept in north-east.
Flooring: Ceramic tiles, mosaic, marble are good choices for kitchen flooring. Ceramic tile flooring is recommended to accommodate Indian conditions as it is stain-free, dust-free and scratch resistant.
Windows: There should be one or two windows or air holes in the east direction of the kitchen. An exhaust fan in the East is good.
Color Scheme: The color of floor and walls should be yellow, orange, rose, chocolate or red. It should not be black as far as possible.
